Be on the lookout for suspicious or distracting activity on your business premises …
All business premises need to be aware of the following scams and be vigilant to suspicious males:
Individuals are entering hotel rooms, gyms, and lockers in order to remove credit and debit cards. Suspects are then calling up the owner of the card purporting to be from the bank and asking for pin codes and passwords from the victim. The cards are subsequently used at cash points/banks across the country where large amounts of cash are withdrawn.
Suspects are also targeting open business premises for example chiropractors and dentists in order to remove bank cards from easily accessible bags. Staff are only noticing when someone calls up pretending to be from the bank.
Please report anything suspicious. Try to note descriptions of anyone seen acting suspiciously and any vehicle registration. Ensure that any CCTV is working and recording.
