20/02/2015 Internet safety survey

By Rebecca Francis on Feb 20, 2015 03:01 pm

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) and Warwickshire County Council are conducting an internet safety survey.
The Warwickshire Internet Safety Survey aims to collate a detailed profile of the threats online and their effects on those who live and/or work in Warwickshire.
It also aims to discover the level of under-reporting of online related crime; the level of knowledge around how to prevent online related crime; and the level of knowledge on how to report an online related crime.
To understand how people who live or work in Warwickshire are affected by cybercrime and internet safety issues we would like everyone to complete a quick survey.

@NAT - The Big Lunch 2015 - 7th June

About The Big Lunch

The Big Lunch is a very simple idea from the Eden Project. The aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on the first Sunday in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun. Since starting in 2009, thousands of Big Lunches have taken place in all types of communities. In 2014, 4.83 million people took to their streets, gardens and community spaces for the sixth annual Big Lunch.
You can plan a Big Lunch whenever it suits your community, the 2014 downloadable resources are still available.

  • We have had numerous road related incidents in the past week. So we would like to make members of our community aware of this. Road conditions are still poor in January and winter driving tips still apply. Equally we air great caution when driving on high speed, country roads. Often planning a journey and allowing yourself more time will counter the urge to have to compensate for any unnecessary delays such as tractors or bikes. (Some of this weeks Community Safety advice sheet will give further advice around this).

If you have any questions or further information regarding these offences, please contact the Team direct (List below) or use the 101 non-emergency number as appropriate.

@WAR - Flood Recovery Trailer in Warwickshire 9-13th Mar

Warwickshire County Council and The National Flood Forum have organised for the recovery trailer to visit each Borough/District the week commencing 9th March. The aim of this is to:
  • Raise awareness of flooding within Warwickshire
  • Provide information to flood risk communities
  • Allow communities to ask questions or raise concerns about flooding
  • Allow flood risk residents to speak informally to flood risk management officers
  • Allow communities to see property level protection that is available, ask questions and receive any information they require
  • Allow communities to have chance to discuss the Warwickshire Local Flood Risk Management Strategy with Warwickshire County Council
Due to the size of the trailer, we have picked one location in each Borough/District. Communities are welcome to attend the most convenient for themselves.

The trailer will be in the following locations from 11am - 6pm

Monday 9th March - NORTH WARWICKSHIRE BOROUGH  Polesworth, Grendon Road (North Warwickshire Borough Council Car Park) B78 1HATuesday 10th March - NUNEATON AND BEDWORTH BOROUGH Nuneaton Sainsbury's Car Park, Vicarage Street, Nuneaton, CV11 4XSWednesday 11th March - RUGBY BOROUGH - Rugby Sainsbury's Car Park, 385 Dunchurch Road, Rugby,
