FENNY COMPTON NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

CyberTip - Holiday & Travel Booking - Never pay for accommodation by bank transfer; even if you are desperate to get away or how close to the holiday you are booking. Don't advertise the fact that your house will be empty when you are away by posting on social networking or travel tracking sites. Some insurance companies are now rejecting claims if homes are targeted by burglars while the owners are away on holiday and have made reference to it on social media. More precautions to ensure that you get the holiday you planned are here: bit.do/holidaybooking

Data Link is a voluntary scheme for anyone living at home, who might be reassured to know that essential information would be readily available to the Emergency Services, should they suffer an accident or sudden illness. The scheme ensures that vital information is available not only to identify you, but also to advise of relevant illnesses, allergies, medication and contact addresses. The Data Link pot, which holds your information, lives in the fridge - you then display a sticker on the inside of your front door and a second one on the outside of your fridge to indicate its location. We have a limited supply of Data Link pots should you know of someone who would benefit. MORE bit.do/data_link

RUN, HIDE, TELL if you should ever be unlucky enough to be faced with an armed attacker

How secure are contactless card payments? According to the UKCards Association there have never been any confirmed reports of money being ‘stolen’ from a contactless card still in a cardholder’s possession in the UK. Read more: bit.do/Contactless If you are still not reassured why not use a prepaid card for contactless transactions and only top it up enough to make a limited number of purchases. The Monzo (monzo.com) prepaid card is free to use for purchases at home and abroad.
