@SD - Replica armour and weapons stolen from Castle Inn, Edgehill

Incident 146 of 10 January 2014

Police are investigating a burglary that occurred sometime overnight between the evening of Thursday 9 and Friday 10 January 2014 at the Castle Inn, Edgehill.

The pub is situated on the summit of Edgehill overlooking the battlefield of the first major battle of the English Civil War.

Unknown thieves are believed to have broken into a container situated to the side and rear of the Inn and stolen replicas of historic armour and weapons normally used to decorate the pub.

These replica items include two metal rifles and a flint lock rifle, a support spike, a pike and spear, a pikeman’s helmet, 2 brass saxon axes, a pike, a metal breast plate.
