Wellesbourne Safer Neighbourhood Team Report 36 – 17.09.15
 
This report from the Wellesbourne Safer Neighbourhood Team covers the wards of Snitterfield, Wellesbourne, Kineton and Burton Dassett.
 
The following incidents, for the period between 02.09.15 – 17.09.15 have been reported and the team are appealing for witnesses:
 
Snitterfield Ward
 
Wolverton – Wolverton School
Theft – 17.0915/088
Front offside window to a secured red Ford Fiesta smashed. Navy blue handbag containing purse with cash and cards and a mobile telephone stolen.
 
Snitterfield – Hales Close
Vehicle crime – 13.09.15/305
Smoke canister lit underneath a vehicle and a one metre scratch, offside rear passenger door, apparently made by dragging the canister along the side. Believed to have occurred around midnight and a large group of youths were seen in the area. Police carried out house to house enquiries and made a leaflet drop.
 
There have been further reports of youths throwing eggs, lighting smoke canisters and carrying, what is possibly an air rifle, in the area.
 
Wellesbourne Ward
 
Wellesbourne – Stratford Road – Farm location
Theft – 11.09.15/237
7 metre telehandler, rough terrain forklift, stolen from a building site.
 
Wellesbourne – St Peter’s Church
Theft – 09.09.15/214
A Fat Face handbag, green/grey, was stolen from inside the church between 12.40 and 14.00 hrs. It had been placed on a table where leaflets are kept. The bag contained cash, bank and credit cards as well as a driving licence and bus pass.
 
A group of bell ringers reported that a bearded male, wearing grey clothes, entered the church with them at 12.40.
 
Wellesbourne – St Peter’s Road
Damage – 0089
Sharp instrument used to make four holes in offside rear tyre of unattended blue Ford Fiesta.
 
Wellesbourne Market
Vehicle crime – 16.09.15/123
A Vauxhall van was broken into and power tools, grinders and drills as well as a DAB radio were stolen.
 
Graffiti
The SNT have liaised with parish councillor Eric Lawley and there have been discussions with the probation service and community payback scheme to remove the graffiti.
 
Kineton Ward
 
Lighthorne – Spinney Close
Theft – 282
A rattan style plastic chair was stolen from the balcony at the rear of the property.
